defaultuser6 it could be implemented the same way as robots.txt was. However, honestly, I am currently thinking whether a free service should have more of these “luxuries”. More people will come and they will ask to implement support for whatever other service they can think of, and at that point, the settings area will become impossible to maintain.
robots.txt
was pretty universal thing, so in the end, I just went for it. However, as I have mentioned in the robots.txt
scenario, I would rather upload the file for an individual forum manually upon their request once in a while rather than dedicating a settings area for it and risk some “crafty” people abusing it in order to damage the service, on top of what I have already said.
It is also important to remember that FreeFlarum is a free service, and most free hosting providers will not offer such features - so even me uploading the file is already pretty generous, IMHO. I think that if a free forum requires this, then I would personally look towards moving the forum to a paid hosting instead. Point is, you can’t expect full SEO/whatever support out of a free service like this.
