Option to Switch Between FreeFlarum Accounts

(😅 Sorry mate, I’m still half asleep and couldn’t think of a better title for this.)

I was just intending to go through each of my 3 FreeFlarum sites dashboards here at FreeFlarum, adding a donation to FreeFlarum from each of my 3 sites accounts.

Trouble is, after logging in to my asylum account and donating, I realized I can’t seem to figure out how to log out of the asylum account so that I can then log in to each of my other two sites accounts to donate from each of them.

(😄I’m really not sure if I’m simply failing to see the log-out button though.)

So anyways. I was just thinking that it’d be pretty handy if there were an option available in the FreeFlarum dashboard for individuals like me who have more than one FreeFlarum site, so that we could easily switch between each site’s account.

Regardless, I greatly appreciate FreeFlarum.

Thank you for the suggestion and the donations! Currently, FreeFlarum does not assume a master account or an account switcher, and implementing one would mean that I would have to recode the entire login system and our database schema. Therefore, this cannot be implemented anytime soon, sorry.

FYI the logout button is at the bottom of this page: https://freeflarum.com/settings/account_settings. You can also open a new incognito mode to “log out”, so you keep your original session.

Also FYI, you don’t have to log in to your other forums if you want to donate as them (thanks!). As long as you remember their IDs (tags, or the name you picked before registration and that was before .freeflarum com in your URL), you can just put that in the name of the donor or the donation message, and FreeFlarum will pick it up.

Although…😄I honestly still haven’t figured out where the log-out button/option is on that page aye.

SKevo Oh, it’s really the least I could do mate, and I reckon you probably deserve a hell of a lot more too, coz this whole FreeFlarum concept provides much more benefits and advantages than I would have initially presumed, especially for anyone determined to learn how to thoroughly modify & customize a Flarum™-based forum.

Like what I’ve started doing lately by using one site as the main site and using an additional two others for testing out custom modifications for the main site.

It’s been maybe 2—3 months since I decided to really give Flarum™ a go, and in the beginning I didn’t know bugger all, so I constantly had to pester the Flarum™ support community for every little thing. Which inevitably led to me annoying the community as well as me & the community becoming increasingly frustrated with one-another.

I intended to give up and leave 2-3 weeks ago due to how difficult it was for me to get answers or to figure out how to customize any of the things I wanted to.

In fact I wiped the first 3 sites and did leave, until a day or two later when I realized I can simply use a secondary FreeFlarum hosted Flarum™ site as a dedicated testing site rather than risking testing anything on the main site.

Might not sound all that significant, yet a month ago I couldn’t do the most basic CSS modifications without days/or weeks of ceaselessly pestering others to provide the exact codes.

Which is in stark contrast to right now, where I am able to figure out & modify things I never imagined I ever could.

I still don’t know much about CSS/LESS, HTML or JavaScript, yet through simple trial & error I’ve already learnt enough to be able to modify a lot of the basic stuff, as well as even begin creating completely new features, like a custom ‘Start a Discussion’ button positioned in the header, fully responsive multi link promo footer, and I’ve also started playing around with some bigger concepts too, for example I’ve been testing out a transient free chat feature which is basically a chat type widget looking thing that literally anyone can post messages on, and there’s no need to worry about spam or anything because the posts only exist for as long as each user stays on the main page of the site. It actually does work too, although I still haven’t worked out how to make it so users can see each other’s posts.

But anyway, the point is, I definitely couldn’t do anything like that a month ago.

I’ve been able to learn this stuff specifically thanks to FreeFlarum.
