Forum: The Bridge Eighteen Community Forum
Since I officially opened the public beta of this forum around August last year, users have noticed the following issues on my forum:
Some time after opening the public beta, some users have noticed a delay in receiving the forum’s verification email. I checked the logs of the forum after their feedback to me and found that the server timeout when connecting to Mail.ru SMTP… After migrating the forum to the current domain I tested it again with the original configuration and it still doesn’t work.
Also at the beginning of the beta, some users reported that they could not post on the forums, as they got errors from the Flarum software and did not see their posts on my site (in other words, their posts were not sent at all), and after checking the forum logs, I found out that it showed that the PWA plugin on the forums did not recognize the Firebase configuration file. At that point I immediately generated a configuration on Firebase, but when I migrated the forum domain this year I found that this configuration was also not recognized by the plugin, and I then shut down the entire plugin. What’s happening now is that I still get an error when I write a post and hit send, but the result after refreshing shows that my post was actually sent successfully.
Now the forum will be officially opened on January 28th (UTC+8), the Chinese New Year’s Eve, I hope to find the root cause of these two problems as soon as possible to make it more comfortable for future users. Thank you very much!
