I must say, this is an interesting exchange of conversation. I do not have the full context of the entire story, but if I understand correctly, this forum was advertised on some other chat (outside of FreeFlarum) and the consequence is that the entire forum hosting service (which I manage) is now being DDoSed. This entire situation is quite a nonsense to me, and honestly I have a very hard time finding adequate words to react to this (also because I cannot communicate or understand Chinese at all).
Working with the information and context that I currently have: I am aware that I cannot do anything to forcibly prevent the attack from happening. In fact, I do not have any warranty that this attack will not happen if I indeed remove the forum (FreeFlarum has had a few DDoS attacks before, I do not know if they were related).
Point is, we are already prepared to handle such attacks, to an extent that our resources and budget allows. They happened, and it would be unwise to assume that they will not happen in the future again (I mean, attacks not related to this forum, but in general).
I will therefore not be removing this forum yet. However, if this particular forum will continue to be a target of such attacks, we will take action (according to point 8.3. in our Terms).
Please, allow me to end this with some more personal and honest words. I am sure that you realize that attacking this particular forum disrupts the service for many other forum administrators as well, some of which manage way more serious forums than this one. If your goal was to attack the entire FreeFlarum service (which I could assume, but I have no proof of), I am disgusted that things like this even exist. I cannot do anything, but to sincerely hope that all of you will learn to behave more adequately and be more respecting in your life in the future.
