A clear description of the issue:
Hello,
no one seems to have a problem with the videos, but they’re not working on my site. I have the FoF Formatting extension active, MediaEmbded enabled, and also Lite Youtube Embded. I’ve also tried various combinations, but to no avail. I’ve also tried different videos - neither works.

It’s such a small thing, everything else works beautifully for me 🙂 If it could be fixed, I’d like to. 🙂

Patrik the FoF Formatting YouTube embeds don’t seem to work, because (I think) the referrerpolicy="no-referrer-when-downgrade" attribute is not set by the FoF Formatting extension. However, the embeds work perfectly fine with the “Lite YouTube Embed” extension. I have enabled that extension on your forum, which makes the embed display correctly. Also, I have reported the issue with FoF Formatting here, for reference

Thanks for the quick reply, but no, it doesn’t work.
I guess I’m doing something wrong, or I’m not getting something right, but the Lite Youtube Embded extension itself doesn’t work either.
I turned off FoF Formatting, turned off Lite Youtube Embded, cleared the cache, turned on Lite Youtube Embded and embedded the video. The only thing that appears is the link preview.

Patrik sorry, you’re right, it did not work. I assumed that when the thumbnail loaded, the video would play as well, but that is not the case.

I have manually instructed Flarum to overwrite the Referrer header with no-referrer-when-downgrade for your forum, and it should work now – I clicked the video in the discussion you linked above and it started playing correctly (at least that confirms that the issue is with the extensions not setting the referrer properly).
I think it now shouldn’t matter if you use FoF Formatting with Lite YouTube Embed, or just the FoF Formatting extension.

Note that changing your custom domain will rewrite the config, so let me know if it stops working. Also, keep in mind that if you use VPN, or YouTube simply doesn’t like something else, the video might still refuse to play – at that point, I unfortunately can’t do anything as all of that is governed by YouTube’s (frankly, mostly unclear) policies.
