Why should this extension be included?

Adding a private messages function to Flarum is a good alternative to nodeloc/whisper.

cudem sorry, the requirements should be met. I make exceptions rarely, because I don’t want to clutter FreeFlarum’s server with extensions only a few forums will use.

There is FoF Byōbu, but I assume that doesn’t suit your needs because you require a feature that more closely resembles tranditional chat rather than private discussions?

cudem why do you prefer this one over FoF Byōbu?

As far as I know, this is a fork of a fork of Kyrne’s Whisper, which requires a WebSocket server to be set up, unless I am wrong or something had changed?

This extension seems good to me, or at least it seems so. I think it will be useful for a large number of forums, because this feature is something that could make a difference in the ease of internal communication in the forum between members and administrators…

The extension is really new, and I hope that many forum administrators will come across this post in order to vote on it.

SKevo Like the author of this extension, I prefer the traditional messaging interface. Fofbyobu is not a messaging interface. It is a discussion interface, it is difficult for me to customize its own interface. I wanted messaging to be separate from discussions, and this extension accommodates that. I use Google translate, hope you understand what I mean. I think it doesn’t need websocket, I will ask the author again about this issue.

SKevo I have confirmed with the author. This extension does not require a websocket. It’s not realtime like Whisper.
