  • Strange SEO message in red box

My forum URL is https://coffeetime.freeflarum.com/

If I refresh the page in the web browser…not freeflarums own refresh option I get this message in a red box:
“v17development-flarum-seo failed to initialize, check the browser console for further information.”
I can’t see any issues in the admin section and I don’t know why it’s happening. I tried a forum fixup and that didn’t help.

davec does the error still happen? I can’t seem to reproduce it. If you want, I can create a temporary admin account at your forum and look into it - it’s likely a bug in the SEO extension, as I have recently updated it for all forums (or maybe it was just a temporary issue because the update didn’t propagate over all forums back then)

SKevo If you can create and admin account an have a look, I would appreciate it, as it’s still happening when I do a page refresh?

      Thanks
      Dave

P.S. In the browser console it refers to in the error box, there is only this:

      fireApplicationError.ts:11 v17development-flarum-seo failed to initialize
fireApplicationError.ts:12 TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘prototype’)
      at index.ts:45:3
      at Application.tsx:281:9
      at Array.forEach (<anonymous>)
      at e.boot (Application.tsx:279:33)
      at 2894-alex-duetto-ii-brew-boiler-reset-button:170:33
      Bi @ fireApplicationError.ts:12Understand this error
      retailer.js:2 No messages from Iterable
retailer.js:2 Error fetching messages from Iterable No messages from Iterable

I forgot to mention, you can only see this message as an administrator, which is why no forum users mentioned it. So it’s not super urgent in terms of affecting the userbase…but of course I suspect the SEO is not working at all at the moment.

davec thanks, I can confirm that the error happens on my end too. However, the extension still seems to load fine, even if it shows that error message(?)

I have reported it to the author here: https://github.com/v17development/flarum-seo/issues/98. I am unfortunately not sure what exactly causes this, but judging from the error message itself, I assume it’s something related to tags (so I think that something breaks with SEO for tags, but other SEO related features don’t seem to produce any errors when I click around the forum)

I don’t know if it’s related, but for the entire day, no one has been able to post to the forum….including me?

davec this is related to the most recent version of the Purify extension which was now removed temporarily until the issue is resolved. Apologies for the inconvenience, you should be able to post normally again.
