FreeFlarum was down for a longer time today. This was not planned and I apologize to everyone for the downtime. The service that I use didn’t alert me via e-mail, which is something that I will have to resolve.

The root cause also prevented all e-mails from arriving. This should be resolved now. The issue is that some FreeFlarum forums are exponentially growing in size and contain gigabytes of data. This will be looked into in the following days and more details will follow. For now, I encourage that such large forums migrate to a different hosting provider per our Fair Use Policy, since FreeFlarum cannot accommodate forums of such size and was never meant to.

Fixed a bug where FreeFlarum did not properly recognize an A record instead of CNAME (this might make CNAME possible at root domain and recognizable by FreeFlarum - CNAME flattening).

Thanks to the generous offer and efforts of the awesome Blomstra team, I am happy to announce that the FreeFlarum support forum is now being hosted on their server in order to ensure uptime in cases when FreeFlarum server crashes or is offline.

Removed the Asirem theme due to it being abandoned at the moment (per our extension request guidelines). I will re-add it once it is maintained again and receives updates.

I am aware that FreeFlarum is experiencing issues right now, and I am working to resolve the issue. Apologies for the downtime.

      • Removed “Vote With Money” (it’s marked as incompatible), updated FoF Polls to the latest version

      • Updated extensions to latest version

      • Upgraded Flarum to v1.8.7
        • Note: all forums must be synchronized, this will take about 2 hours (your forum might prompt you for your “database password”, which you can safely ignore). Visit https://freeflarum.com/settings/forum_settings and click on the fixup button to synchronize your forum instantly, and the prompt should go away. If that’s not the case, message me.

      Updated all extensions to the latest versions, notably SEO and Blog. Note that forums using these extensions will need to be synced, or else your forum will fail to load (usually takes about 1 - 2 hours, or it can be done immediately by clicking on the fixup button at https://freeflarum.com/settings/forum_settings)
