Don’t know if this is in the right place but I felt it was less likely to be in the wrong place by being here. Please move it if appropriate but then tell me how I find it again!
Also I understand the difference between freeflareum and flareum, responsibilities etc.
Quite clearly flarum (sic) would benefit from user documentation (not how to install it, how to write extensions nor any other developer or administrator documentation) If it’s to achieve widespread adoption by the mass of potential users who are dis-interested in elegance of code and exclusivley interested in the accessibility of something useable
I’m already trying to find folk on discuss.flareum to collaborate on producing some. So far I’m being told “difficult because it depends on the extensions”
I’ve followed the prompts to create a vanilla out of the box freeflarum instance - stroke.flarum.cloud - I have no idea of what the configuration is, what the options are, where they are, what the consequences of making a mistake and undoing it would be etc etc etc.
Can anybody point me to end user 101/How-To documentation? I’ve searched and not found any.
On the assumption that there isn’t anything suitable as a 101 then I’m quite happy to create it but I need some guidance from somebody who knows enough to get me started - a discussing over a shared screen & record probably
I’ll donate pro-bono what I create to the cause.
I anticipate that having described how to use the out of the box as delivered freeflareum forum The omissions that are remedied by the various extensions will become obvious and then I can start adding a Forum Owners Configuration Guide and extending a forum users How To Guide for the components that deliver an 80% solution for 80% of the people 80% of the time - which has to be halfway better than the current solution of nothing?
Anyone able to collaborate?
I’m in the UK and have time on my hands to work on this
